Reflection on Master Plumbers Leadership Forum

Hello, Waterworx community!

I recently had the pleasure of attending the annual Master Plumbers Leadership Forum in Wellington, a gathering of the National Team and executive branch members from various Master Plumbers branches. It was an incredible two-day event with engaging discussions, valuable insights, and fantastic networking opportunities. As an executive member of the Southern Lakes Master Plumbers branch and fellow board members, we ventured to Wellington to participate in this vital forum.

Coming from rural New Zealand, gaining perspectives from the more prominent companies in our industry is enlightening. The exchange of ideas and best practices is invaluable as we strive to elevate our operations and better serve our communities. During our visit, Wellington turned on the charm, treating us to stunning weather and remarkably calm conditions—a pleasant surprise for a capital city! The atmosphere was exciting as we participated in various workshops and listened to presentations from industry leaders and engaging speakers.

One of the major highlights for me was a presentation from award-winning chartered accountant Luke Kemys. His insights into the financial aspects of running a plumbing business were enlightening and practical. Luke’s ability to break down complex topics made it accessible, allowing us to draw direct connections to our practices and plans.

The Leadership Forum is not just an opportunity to learn about updates and issues facing our industry but also to form connections and share experiences with fellow members. The conversations sparked during networking sessions often lead to collaborative opportunities that benefit us all. All in all, attending this forum reaffirmed the importance of staying connected as an industry. Together, we can address challenges, seize opportunities, and work towards a brighter future for all Master Plumbers across New Zealand.

Until next time, let's keep the momentum going and continue to support one another in our Plumbing journey!
